Over 600 converted to Islam in Qatar during Ramadan

Doha : Some 615 expatriates in Qatar have converted to Islam during the holy month of Ramadan, Qatar News Agency (QNA) reported on Friday.

According to figures released by the Qatar Guest Center and Sheikh Eid Charity Association, the state-run agency said that the new converts comprised 144 women, and the vast majority hails from the Philippines, estimated 517 men and women, followed by 32 Sri Lankans, 26 Indians, 25 from the UK, and 15 Nepalese.

According to the Center, the numerous reversions are related to the easy access to information about the state religion.

Since its inception in 1998, the Qatar Guest Center has become a pioneer in the field of Dawa to Islam with wisdom and good advice, as well as by explaining the definition of Islamic religion for all people and expatriates in the Gulf state, in particular.—AB/IINA
