The capacity of electricity plants at the holy sites
now stands at 18,680MW, according to the Saudi Electricity

demand during the Haj period.
He said the SEC has just started several projects in Makkah

including at the Grand Mosque and Jabal Omar to ensure
supply meets demand during the expansion period.

“Other electricity projects underway include those on the
first circular road, security headquarters at holy sites’
government complex, Al-Muaisim accommodation camp,
Ministry of Defense project in Mina and the Al-Zamzamah
